Plastering of walls and ceilings is carried out in order to give a smooth and flat surface ready for decorating. This can be achieved onto a number of different substrates including plasterboard, old painted surfaces, artexed ceilings and brick and block walls.
Depending on the background alters what plaster, primers and adhesives need to be used in order to achieve the desired final result.
We also often incorporate a fibre mesh in our backing coats over stress points to help prevent future cracking.
Primers are sometimes used on high suction backgrounds in order for the plaster to adhere properly to the walls. If this is not done on high suction backgrounds then the walls could potentially de laminate.
